Fear.

Mwahahahaha! Happy Halloween :)

I hope you all have a spooktacular day.

Quirky.

Ali is quirky, no doubt.

Here he is acting out after decorating the lounge for Halloween. He has strewn cobwebs from the light fitting and tucked spiders into them and then dragged some down on individual web strands.

Pumpkin carving tomorrow morning, I think there is some kind of carnival down town tomorrow at sundown and then we will go and 'treat' the neighbours.

Statue.

A sorta statue, the marker at the start of the railway line that is now used as a leisure trail and can be followed just about all the way to Plymouth 100 odd miles away :)

Dark.

A dark part of the path on our walk, the boys obviously love this part.

Orange.

A shrub near my house, it just looks glorious, I was so glad that I drove around that way and saw it. I imagine if it was next week I would have missed the display.

B&W: Heartwarming.

I had such a heartwarming evening. I managed to get home for the school pick-up, Ali's face was a picture and he was full of hugs and I Love You's. I felt very heartwarmed. Mum had made Beef Stew and Dumplings so that warmed me too :)

I didn't get a photo of any of that so here is one of the hotel at night lol.

Black & White: free choice.

Having a mad day at work in the store in south devon. Have dashed back to the hotel for half an hours peace and quiet! Here is my room in black and white.

B&W: Family Portrait.

Ali caught me from behind with the camera. Me and Minty. I think a family portrait is a good idea, just need to schedule in a shoot :)

Black & White; Repeating Pattern.

Hello.

I am in South Devon now, the hotel and food is great and the work has gone ok. Yesterday was quite busy travelling, checking in and meeting up with everyone and having dinner, then we all helped get the project ready to start at 6am this morning :)

I grabbed this shot in the lift for my repeating pattern.

Black & White: Close-up.

It's been a good day. I slept in until 8am, unusual for me, then we took the dogs down to the rocky beach for some fresh air and to collect some pebbles for a crafty idea I came across on pinterest. It was a bit wild down there and the tide was very high so we took what we found, they were too big really.

So we painted these and finished them off this evening. This is Ali's.
Now they are asleep (finally) I shall varnish them to dry overnight. I covered one of mine in croco paint and I love it so I will be decorating it instead and keeping it.

As you can see, we didn't find any smooth ones either, we need a much lower tide for that.

My close-up is of a fairy-light from above my desk.

I spent three hours yesterday going back through my blog and Suzie's trying to make sure that I had an entry for each day and that it had the correct date on it. I missed two days! One in July (when I was on my Olympics adventure) and one at the beginning of June (when the boss was away for a fortnight and it was my friends wedding!) So not too bad. I have made a note to catch them up next week when I am on holiday and then load them to flickr, do the monthly spreads and I should, touch wood, end the year ok.

Black & White Portrait.

Right, catch up time, starting with today.

My little munchkin, we have been hanging out today having some rest, crafting together and now watching Star Wars.

I am off to South Devon next week for an unexpected work project and I will be leaving my little munchkins behind :( I am hoping to get home for 12 hours on thursday but that is it. For taking photos that will mean that I should be better than usual as I will have new surroundings and more time to myself, we'll see!

Public Transport.

I dug this one out of the archive, from one of our trips to the olympics.

Door.

The church we live next to has this door. I love the sundial above it.

Street Scene.

An unexpected project came up at work which required a 12 hour day :(

I am glad I took these photos on the way in. Not exactly a street, but it was taken from a road :)

It has been wild and very, very wet here.

Architecture.

Darned it. I just posted this to the other blog again!

I haven't any architecture photos again, just ones of my desk all clean and tidy.

Look! As it was a special clean I even moved stuff to clean behind, noticeboard has been cleared, photos ordered, supplies checked (none of my favourite glues left to last the weekend, will have to go tomorrow).

I will try and keep up as I would like to see the year through, but I am struggling I admit.

Distant.

Mum has been researching the family tree and has come across the fact that Sir Allen Lane the founder of Penguin publishing house is related to us.
His Great Grandmother was my Great-Great Grandfather's Sister. Which makes him my first cousin three times removed :D
Michael Morpurgo married his daughter....so officially I am related to him surely lol.

Sky.

Although I am back to part-time it was one of my long days today so I didn't get the prompt. I can report that it was a dull grey sky!
Something that will be in the sky is the new statue that is being erected in Ilfracombe which has caused much division in the town. She is called Verity and is a gift from Damien Hirst to the town for 20 years.
Hirst is already quite active in the town, he has a bistro on the harbour, he is developing a couple of large run-down victorian buildings, one of which is apparently going to be a top-notch hotel and he is also getting involved with plans for new housing. I will reserve judgement until I see it up an settled in.

An impression of how it will look.

Anyway, from one oddness to another....

The pumpkin came home today...I wasn't sure how Ali would be about Halloween this year, but he seems to have taken it to it as usual.

And this carry on from a boy that usually hates to have his photo taken actively asking for a
photo-shoot. He decided to kiss it, not me :)
It now has a face drawn on and a scarf wrapped on and has been named Randy!

Overgrown.

This area next to the stream at work is wild and overgrown.

Not a very interesting photo though!

Natural Frame.

A photo of the layout showing the photos I took yesterday. I think that counts as a new photo :D

The circles are natural frames I guess.
Ali carrying water to fill his moat, a blog post with a video telling more of that story for Storytelling Sunday is here.

A solar rainbow/flare? Not sure but it looked like a rainbow without rain to the eye, the camera hasn't caught it brilliantly but you could see more colours in it. I have never seen it before.

This was Ali's side of the battlefield, this was Feather Kingdom and you can just see him in the background collecting more water!

Here is to another week. I am back to part-time again. (Anne, the boss was away for a fortnight and so I was in charge and trying to do my job as well :D). Someone else asked me a question and I can't for the life of me remember what, apologies. I will try and find time for a check back.
I am hoping my mojo is better this week. I am finding it harder and harder to find new photos!

Oh and I finally did it, I posted this post to the other blog by accident. I have removed it but I imagine it will arrive in readers! Apologies if you are one of them.
I have to say, moving to a mac has been amazing except missing Microsoft Live Writer which is a superb blogging tool. I knew I might get confused more easily.

Valley or Peak.

Beautiful day here in North Devon so Ali decided a trip to the beach was in order. On the way back we stopped and took a couple of photos from the peak of North Devon looking down towards the Bristol Channel and Wales beyond.

A Local Landmark.

It has only been 5 missed days but has felt much longer. Anyway, have matched up the photos I have taken with the prompts as best I can. I finally had a day off after 11 long days on the trot, so I was able to get the prompt and actually remember it!

I slept 10 hours last night and went back to sleep for an hour this afternoon and if i'm honest, i'm ready for bed again :)

A local landmark. Capstone Hill, can be seen from many areas of Ilfracombe, has been the scene of many of our local events and everyone in the town would know what you meant.

I'll try and catch up with your blogs now.

Assymetrical.

I didn't have the prompt again, this was a photo I took yesterday and I guess the gate is on one side of the photo.

Above & Below.

I spent a frustrating 10 minutes trying to get enough signal today to do some banking via my mobile on the bridge just outside of work. Roll-on wifi for the staff which they are promising this month!
Anyway, above and below the bridge.

I didn't see the prompt for this one.
Mum and Ali made star biscuits whilst I was prepping for cakes I was making the next night.
