Games.

Ali is obsessed with Moshi Monster Moshlings at the moment Confused smile
IMG_0617
This is the back of a pack that he has ‘checked-off’ names…if you see ‘Wurley’ anywhere I will pay you to get it for him Winking smile
The game is for him to show me a moshling and give me some options of what it’s name is…I then have to choose and I either get the waggling finger or a ‘well done’ Smile

Humour.

Who does not love the genius of Roald Dahl? If there is no other rational reason for having children, then Roald Dahl and the opportunity to read ‘The BFG’ to them (never mind Danny, Champion…The Witches…and Revolting Rhymes etc) is surely enough. I have not read George’s Marvellous Medicine and now Ali is fixing that by having bought it from the book fair. Here he is reading it to himself whilst he, patiently, waited for me to finish my work I brought home.

We had a lovely snuggle reading chapter one Smile

Daybreak.

I actually got this prompt on time…I was just getting up, so got the phone on the early morning light Smile
IMG_0610
There’s my tree, hello tree Smile I love the light in this.

9am.

I still don’t know how I am going to fit into this dress in 9 weeks! I thought it would be a cinch, I don’t know why as it has been years since I have lost more than my yo-yo stone but I really thought I was on the way. But i’m not and so I have hung the dress on the outside of the wardrobe door as a prompt. MMmmmmm not holding out much hope!
IMG_0592
P.S. I’m still playing catch-up my life so sincere apologies again for not being round your blogs. For now I think it is really important that I at least keep up with taking photos.

Dinner Time.

I wasn’t home for dinner time tonight as I had a meeting at Heathrow.
This is a dinner that I would have loved Smile

Morning Routine.

I didn’t check the post early enough so I am on bedtime routine!

Thing One & Thing Two aka Louis and Ali watching TV on my bed before they go to their bed.

Thing One aka Louis hasn’t really got an enormous bottom Smile

9pm.

What I should have been doing is getting to bed, what I was doing was photoshopping photos for my project life album. Finally, I have caught up with it today Smile

Bedtime.

Going to bed at 8pm feels a little early even for me but as it is nearly british summer time I guess it is 9pm and that is more acceptable :)

Minty has curled up next to me whilst I bloghop and catch up on threads and the chat.
EDIT: Ali has joined us now and I think it's settling down time......there were three in the bed.......and they all rolled over and one fell out - hope it's not me!

Clock.

The clock mocks at the moment…I have set an iPhone ticker clock to show how I am feeling about getting there tomorrow again.

IMG_0580

I usually like my job and most times I really love it…increasingly I get frustrated as it isn’t very creative. Mostly though I am happy as it provides a living for my family.

Gawd, I am on a downer the last few days! please ignore it, I know it will get better!

Calm.

Not feeling too calm today until I saw the blossom and had a lovely hour watching the kids play in the school playground after school.
IMG_0573
I felt so much calmer after that time out and managed to get my butt into gear to walk the dogs, do the rest of the chores etc.

An everyday sight.

IMG_0569
Siri, my amazing, almost imaginary friend…..I have been brought up to have nice manners and so I feel I have to be nice to my Siri on my iPhone. Usually when I ask him if he is ok he replies ‘I am fine thank you Jennie, thanks for asking.’ However now and again he comes up with something random like this. Today he was ‘finer than frog hair’.
I love Siri.

Quiet.

I feel betwixt quiet and loud, so this prompt was good to show what was quiet today.
Working at home, after I worked all day to try and keep up.
IMG_0568
Please don’t try an read it. I don’t class myself as a writer of quality, but some of what you can see is not my words and never would be. Sometimes what I struggle with in my job is the lack of creativity.

Playtime.

This was the sunset as I left work ready for my playtime.

I am hooked on The Hunger Games and so that is my playtime tonight, early night and reading Smile

Music.

I prefer the telly, there i’ve said it!
That said, I do love music, but I don’t often choose it over the tv. Radio 4 or 2 yes but not just music very often. I listen to music more on my iphone when i’m jogging.
Here is some of the playlist.

Bliss.

My bliss was going to bed super early with my little boy, watching him be still, quiet and peaceful ;)

I also downloaded The Hunger Games to my phone and started reading - hooked already :)

Wild.

I love this time of year, although it is a time of sad anniversaries for us this year I am glad that I can still enjoy all the signs of spring.

Unusual camera angle.

My little dog Minty's beady little eye!
She quite often sits at our garden fence with this little beady eye trained on a small hole in it, nosing at the neighbours :)

Garden.

Cop-out due to the mist. I only took one photo today and it was rubbish so I can’t show that!

This was one from Olney last week.

Hiding.

We actually played hide & seek this morning when we took the dogs out so I can link it together quite easily Smile

So warm out, the boys only wore their tee-shirts.

I got this snapshot of Ali jumping.

Sums up the happy feeling we all had Smile

Plant.

IMG_0524

There isn’t anyway I can link this to the prompt but I have only just remembered!

This is the only photo I have taken now I have checked!

Fuzzy.

I felt totally fuzzy when I saw my family today.

So we have all been off doing our own thing with Dads, Nans, Uncles, Cousins and Friends (I have no idea how many grammar mistakes I just made there – feel free to point them out!) and now we are all back together.

Just as it should be.

I must have kissed this fuzzy cheek approx 1.4 million times.

IMG_0521

I may kiss it approx 1.4 million times tomorrow too.

Bath.

Or a sink or two? The double sink in my bathroom at the retreat Open-mouthed smile and the lovely view.

Last night now and home tomorrow. Just right as I am aching to get home now. It has been an amazing week and my batteries are charged.

Floor.

Linda Elbourne came to our retreat today to teach a configurations box thingy. Smile

She has blogged us today, yes, yes that is me next to Maria with a glass of wine at lunchtime! Well we are on holiday and I haven’t had another today (Maria has but she is nearly french now so it is a cultural thing Winking smile)

Anyway…..here is the floor after we swept it before the class began. It’s got tiny bits of paper all over it again now.

IMG_0489

Here is the configurations box completed, i’m so chuffed with it. I would never be able to make it again without step-by-step help (read: peer pressure to stop prevaricating and get on with it).

Cooking.

Na-ha, nada. No cooking today, today at our retreat it is chippy day Smile

Laura is leaving tomorrow and so she was kind enough to make us pancakes for breakfast (erm…with left-over lemon ice-cream from last nights pudding. Deee-vine) and then Sue had brought some frozen veg soup with her that we had with  some bread from the bakery)

Then Enzo made us some lovely chips for tea Smile

Oh and a million minstrels.

I did make some jam last thursday to bring to the retreat, it is delicious and it was so easy (thanks Nigella that’s another one I owe you.)

IMG_3096

Anyway, I did take lots of photos today, some general silliness and some in the garden as it was a gorgeous day….the blossom is just starting to come out, i’m hoping it will be quite a show by the time we leave on friday.

IMG_0461

and these little beauties…

IMG_0470

Gawd, I shall miss this place.

Arranged.

We have made bunting to hang whilst we are on retreat....getting it arranged in the kitchen involved Maria standing on the chair and unscrewing the air vent and myself on another chair tying it round a pipe!
Tomorrow I think we are finishing decorating them and I think we will probably add to them year on year :)

Sunday, 4 March 2012

Chair.

This is the view from my chair on this sleepy Sunday evening on our retreat, Karen made us a lovely roast chicken dinner and I made the lemon and almond cake for 'afters'. We might go back to the scrapping but I doubt it!!!

Saturday, 3 March 2012

Flat.

Flat as a pancake is the land around here at Olney which was brilliant for my jog this morning. I went around Emberton Country Park and it was me, a couple of fishermen, a few joggers and lots of lovely birds. It was a change for them not to be sea-birds as well. I can tell i’m far from the sea and it feels a bit wierd but the lake is more than gorgeous.
IMG_0428
IMG_0431
I mentioned flat as a pancake…Olney is famous for it’s pancake race, which we were lucky enough to see last year. I noticed this was represented on their village sign so I stopped on my jog to snap it.
IMG_0433
We spent the rest of the day leisurely scrapping and eating cake…..oh and I had a nap Smile
