Sunshine.

What a perfect prompt to kick off with.

I had a text conversation with Anne this morning which dragged me out of the doldrums. Thank you sincerely Anne

So I looked around for the sunshine and of course there was loads.

Fun at work.

Two of my boys working our charity drive, or should I say cycle. We are cycling to the moon at tesco this weekend. Every store in Superstores South are cycling 536 miles this weekend on exercise bikes at the front of our stores. If all stores manage to do it then we will have cycled the 200,000 odd miles that it is the distance to get to the moon

We are doing it for cancer research which is dear to my heart and has been for a long time.

I managed 15 miles and found that there is a part of my nether regions that really knows about that 15 miles, nuff said.

The other things that bring me sunshine.

No. 38. A little place called home and the view that cheers me up. I’m home.

Lovely Mum, (still feeling rough but she still did some chores today so I didn’t have to, Love her so much.

Lovely poorly sneezy Ali. Gawd is the poor chap ever bored of it now!

Fudge is always on a lap or planning his next lap attack.

The lovely Louis with the big hair. Why aren’t you changed into play clothes herbert?

The real sunshine trying so hard to get out before bed

And last but not least the lovely Minty waiting on the bottom stair behind the gate for me to take her up to bed

Oh and not a person but my crafty spot where I blog, scrap, craft, chat online etc.

I am so very grateful for my sunshine

SBD….Day 7 Cinders says Goodbye!

Well what a great challenge. I am so happy to have re-aquainted myself with Cinders and met all the lovely creatures along the way, I think the normal prompts will feel quite easy after this!

In other news, Mum is a bit better but had to go to bed by lunchtime. Ali was ok for brief periods but had a wierd ‘sneezing over everything’ going on. Louis fell poorly through the night and Lauren is fighting it. She went to school though, hoping she would feel better this evening (which she did).

I had a productive day sorting and organising my room and stash whilst I mopped brows, fetched cool compresses and easy snacks! I now have this organised space in my room. I so wish I had taken a ‘before’ pic!

 

I have a sense of calm for having it all ‘sorted’. I am sure it will wear off

SBD…Day 6

The house of poorly people here so posting late

Poorly sweaty Ali, being comforted by Angry Birds on my phone. (ain’t no way I hand that phone over otherwise!)
As for Cinders? Well she didn’t know if she was coming or going!

SBD…Day 5

I switched Cinders back to smiley, happy ever after and found my smile in the process. Well at least more of my smile. It’s not back to Julia Roberts wattage yet

So Mum is up, which is better. Ali is worse Poor little chap.

Cinders tucked him in.

Whilst he sat forlornly in my bed, we watched a film and I managed some scrapping. I have scrapped Lauren’s oceanfest hair that I showed you yesterday as a late entry to the monthly challenge on UKS (points for my team!)

SBD….Day 4

A tad melancholic today, missed Dad very much yesterday, I would have given a lot to have heard him humming and pottering around yesterday and giving his sawdusty cheek a kiss. Felt it for Lauren too of course, she went to oceanfest (as I posted for yesterday) and tonight we are both pretty tired in our pj’s ready for bed.

Do you know the quote/phrase that was popular a few years ago…..Just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean they are not out to get you? I was feeling a bit like that until this evening as well. Mum is poorly and has been in bed since thursday refusing to see the doc. Her lip was thick yesterday and I was nearly having a fit thinking she was stroking (family history of stroke and ones at her young age) so I told her that she was just to see a doc today regardless. Anyway she says she is feeling better and hopefully that is the truth and she will be better tomorrow. I know I wouldn’t have given it as much credence before. She is sensible, she was a nurse, she will see the doc when she wants. I don’t feel like that anymore…I feel like wrapping her in cotton wool!

Now I have an Ali in my bed with aches and pains and fevers and snivvels and scratchy red eyes

So not such a bright and cheery Jen today sorry

I have just been out to have a few moments fresh air before bed. Lovely yellow clouds and light.

Our ‘new’ garden pots have really cheered up this bit of wall.

Cinders helped me with the washing up. You know, I think maybe i’ll turn her back to her happy self. Maybe she’s bringing me down with her sad face

SBD….Day 3

Well Cinders did the cleaning today like a good poor urchin Cinders!

She is trying to give the evil eye, but she just really looks like she needs her glasses or is really really tired!!

Anyway one girl got to go to the ball. Lauren headed back out to Oceanfest. She came in drenched and tired last night, but was determined to go back and this morning the sun came out dried up the mud (a bit) and got quite hot so I drove her down there to meet her friends. She needed the distraction from Father’s Day and this was perfect.

First off that has freaked me out not just using the prompt as a post title. First time in the challenge.

Maybe I should tell Lauren this tale next time she misses her curfew Her hair will turn brown again might just do it.

If anything sucks more than having to go to work, it’s having to go twice in one day. I had a naughty night team colleague that needed a little personnel management As Mum is poorly I thought I would go back tonight after the kids were asleep rather than go in really early this morning. I thought Cinders would enjoy a trip out and you know what, I think she did!

Erm, I think I need to reign myself in before I become one of those ladies. I don’t have an issue with them but I don’t want to be one, although it would shake the kids off pretty darned quick if I turned up to their parties with Cinders. It may be something I adopt in the future. Night y’all xx
