Broken.

My Mum is broken! She has cellulitis and we had to go to hospital as she was really poorly.

Just before I left for Race For Life Mum showed me some lumps on her forehead and on her cheek, they were a bit red as well and said she felt alright but she would see the doc later. This from the woman that wouldn’t let me fetch the doc when she was poorly last time for a week! Anyway she had a shower and was up and about and she wanted me to do the race. It would have been Dad’s birthday today so we really wanted me to do it! Anyway, by the time I got back she was in bed and hardly able to talk, so we went to the hospital and got a diagnosis, as with any infection near the head they are concerned for meningitis so they have given her double-dose anti-biots, an anti-emetic for her nausea and some paracetamol to reduce her very high temperature. She has to go back to her GP in the morning to check she is on the mend and obviously straight into the hospital if she gets any worse. To say I have been worried is an understatement. Anyway, I was still in my race for life gear so we were glad to get home, Mum into bed and me into the shower and then I had my breakfast/lunch at about 5pm and then I had a nap. She was sat up a bit talking normally after her nap so I made everyone dinner and left her be for a bit.

So no photos today, I have taken loads of the race and one of mums face so we can compare tomorrow. Don’t worry I wouldn’t show you that one.

I’ll catch up tomorrow! Jen xxx

  3. Oh Jen (((hugs))) Hope the meds do their trick, cellulitis can make people hallucinate with the very high temp. Peter has had it in his leags twice. It is very painful too.
Hope your work day is better tomorrow if you can leave your Mum xxx
